I have a Windows Live Messenger account, and I use it to IM. I have lots of emoticons, but they won't show up as emoticons. For example, if I try to send a smiley face, it shows up like this: :) instead of a real smiley face, which it is supposed to do. Why aren't the real emoticons showing up? And how can I fix it?|||1. Sign in to Windows Live Messenger.
2. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click Messages. If the menu choices do not appear at the top of your Windows Live Messenger window, press ALT on your keyboard to restore the window.
3. Under General Message Settings, select Show emoticons, or select Show custom emoticons, or select both.
4. Click OK to save the changes and close the window.
I hope this helps!
