How do I get hidden emoticons to show up on my computer screen when I click send?

Some of the hidden emoticons show up on my screen, while others don't. Can someone please tell me why that is, %26amp; if there's a way to fix the problem so I'll be able to see the ones I add. The person I send them to is able to see them all, so why can I only see certain emoticons that I include in my text? If anyone can help, please let me know.
