I just got messenger on my mac, and these emoticons are driving me INSANE. So, I was wondering, how does an exasperated MSN-noob such as myself get rid of these dorky emoticons?

2. Click on Messenger tab (next to the Apple logo on top left of your screen)
3. Click on "Preferences"
4. Under "Message Font Style", Disable the "Show emoticons in instant messages" option.
